Title Update 12.1 has dropped as a 4.3 GB update, and with it starts a special Resident Evil cross-over apparel event, a global event, and the second week of the current league activity. To top it all off, the optimization station now takes 75% less resources to use!

And for those folks lucky enough to have a PS4, you can enjoy 4K at 60 FPS.

The Kestrel League event has begun. As with prior league events, we will be earning stages by speed-running specific missions on certain difficulties, and accumulating certain types of combat goals. The base difficulty for missions is hard, with one challening mission. The theme for this mission are the missions that were involved in finding Kestrel.

Mission details, times and target objective are below the fold.

The latest global event has started, and it involves enemies with energy shields that can only be damaged and destroyed with explosives, EMP bursts, or signature weapons. The good news: when you destroy the shield, the enemy explodes!

I finally got around to opening 147 apparel caches. Before starting on this task, I asked myself, "Could spreadsheets make this better?" And the answer, as always with me, was "yes." The following is a deep dive, with math, on how apparel cache drops don't work the way the developer says they do.

The Termite League event has begun! As with prior league events, we will be earning stages by speed-running specific missions on certain difficulties, and accumulating certain types of kills. So after 24 hours with Title Update 8 and the Warlords of New York expansion, here are some spoiler-free thoughts.

While we've shared information about Title Update 8 and the Warlord of New York expansion schedule on the clan Discord, I thought it might be nice to have one concise summary of what to expect in the next 48 hours.

With the next title update we will be getting four new brand sets. Dave (NY) was kind enough to send a long a link to a video covering the details, and I've summarized the information.

As March 3rd draws closer many agents are wondering, while shoving loot into their bursting stashes: “Am I doing enough to get ready for the new gear system?”

The answer is: there‘s nothing you can do. Everything we have and are currently using will be trash.

Warlords of New York is the first expansion for the Division 2. It will drop on March 3rd, and will arrive with a title update that includes Gear 2.0, the massive rebalancing of gear and weapon, and vast overhaul to the loot UI. The expansion will be available for current owners of the Division 2 for 29.99 euros (probably $30 USD) or bundled with the full game in different editions starting at 39.99 euros.

What's in the new update is below the fold.

Episode 3: "The Hunt" will be available today for early access for Year 1 Pass holders. It will be available for all players one week after that, on February 19th. This will be the last content for Year 1, which ends on February 29th. This episode will contain:

  • Two new main missions
  • Two classified assignments (for Year 1 Pass Holders)
  • New specialization: Firewall (unlocked immediately for Year 1 Pass Holders)
  • New exotic SMG: Kameleon

Updated with video

It looks like today's live stream is going to reveal the Year 2 expansion. From some leaked information, we have this:

Warlords of New York

New York is under threat. Aaron Keener, a former Division Agent turned rogue, has taken control of Lower Manhattan, backed by four devoted and highly skilled lieutenants. Trained by The Division but disavowing its ideals, they are now the highest authority in town and the most formidable force the Agents have ever faced.

Dave (NY) raised a great question in chat, and I was frustrated I didn't understand the issue well enough to provide a clear answer. So let's answer it now.

How is skill cooldown effected by skill haste?

The developers were demonstrating the new Chameleon exotic Assault Rifle on the last State of the Game video. A quick summary and a video analysis follow.

On the state of the game, the developers revealed the entire talent tree for the new specialization, which is called Firewall. Dave (NY) shared a great link analyzing the tree and discussing details of this role. There are a lot of tank based skills in the specialization tree in addition to the flamethrower signature weapon. My summary and the video are below the fold.

A story trailer for Episode 3 has dropped, and from it we know the new specialization will involve a flamethrower. The mission will involve rescuing Vitaly Tchernenko from Aaron Keener and the Black Tusk. Also, Cleaners will be involved. The trailer is below the fold.

You've probably heard about Episode 3, gear/loot revisions and the new raid, but you might not be sure about when or what any of it actually means. Here's a quick summary with links to useful details about each.

Dave (NY) shared a link to a video that discusses some gear score changes that are coming down the pipe. I'll save you 10 minutes and summarize the details, because there's some good news.

The maintenance for Title Update 6.1 is well underway. The new version of the game is available for download, but the server maintenance window has been extended twice from the initial four hours (starting at 08:30 GMT) to six hours, to currently nine hours.

On an unrelated note, I hear Massive is looking for more Quality Assurance and DevOps folks...

Update! As of 4:50 PM GMT the servers are up and working!

Title Update 6.1 will be available December 10th, 2019. With it we will get the "Situation: Snowball" which contains the "Silent Night" apparel event.
